I think this book is a hundred times better than the Twilight Series and I'm so glad Meyer left it to one book (a saga would have ruined it for me.)
The romance between Wanda and Ian seems a bit forced but it doesn't make me hate the book at all.
I'd suggest you read it with an open-mind, it will eventually grow on you.

The Twilight Saga has got to be the worst book series I've ever read. I tried reading all the books and I saw all the movies but they were just awful. The narrative is nothing like a teens and it doesn't teach the reader anything except that a girl needs to have a guy to be awesome.
Bella is by far one of the most annoying fictional characters written and is clearly based on Stephenie Meyer's looks.
